PHOENIX -- Arizona ranks 35th nationwide for family stability, according to a new report that links weaker family structures to higher poverty and crime rates, the Center for Arizona Policy says.
The 2026 Family Structure Index, released by the Center for Arizona Policy and the Institute for Family Studies, shows 52.3% of Arizona adults aged 25-54 are married, compared to 65.6% in top-ranked Utah. The state's total fertility rate sits at 1.60, below the 2.1 replacement level needed for population stability.
