No doubt it will be lovely, but Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift will not have a fairy-tale wedding. In fairy tales, the bride and groom are barely into adulthood, not old enough to have albums full of exes. These two not both young when she first saw him.
Which is fine! Nobody should take literal lessons from fairy tales: If you come across an unconscious young woman in a forest and your first instinct is to kiss her, you’re a creep. If the Kelce-Swift engagement departs from her early songs, it reflects a modern marriage ideal, in which two people make a lifetime commitment only after establishing themselves.
