2026

October 8th

Which Americans are happiest today? According to a 2026 Institute for Family Studies survey, it’s married adults. Seventy-seven percent of married Americans, whether parents or childless, reported being “very” or “pretty” happy, compared with 65% of unmarried parents and 67% of unmarried childless Americans. Yet most single women believe that married adults are less happy than single ones. Marriage, it seems, has a serious branding problem in America today.
